Alex, Read the blog you sent. Fascinating and I had not thought through that at all. Rather than moving to 1.5 for Bollinger and 2.0 for Keltner, .875+2.0 would be 1.75 and since all the platforms will allow fractions, I'll just set the Bollinger's to 1.75. I would also like to include the research paper in my research tab of enjoytheride.world/research and credit you and the writer if I can get his permission. Thanks for pointing this out. Brilliant work all around.

Mr. Basso, thank you so match for the great post and your ideas! I have been using your hedging approach since the last year and there are the very good results at the crashing market (in my country).

I have a technical question. I use the previously recommended settings 2.0 ATR for Keltner and 1.5 SD for Bollinger. I understand the logic behind these numbers, becouse the SD is less then ATR (empirical SD=0.875*ATR according this research https://qoppac.blogspot.com/2018/12/the-relationship-between-atr-and.html)

Now you are using the equal settings for Keltner and Bollinger (on the charts). Is this the result of your thouths or practice?

Thanks a lot!

Tom: Great post that we all need to hear in these times to remember why we learn to trade the markets and protect our investments.

Tom I think we rally here for a week. The 80 week FLD projection has been met. A big cyclical target. It obviously breaks after 1 to 2 weeks, but it will support price if the big names rally tomorrow. Watching the tape

Tom: I loved your book, I love your posts, but this one is one of the best. So easy to go with the flow and so challenging to implement for many. So many biases at play that boycott our investment process.

thanks Tom, i just don't understand all this technical analysis, i think that's probably true for most people which is why we suffer like we do during these times. You have acquired a great skill. For a normal guy with a 9-5 I just dont have the time either? not ideal i know

Great article Tom! I am a recent subscriber and found you through Van Tharpe's material. I was curious...I know that you use price channels and Kelter bands a fair amount. In the Nasdaq futures chart you posted in the article, around March 29th, it appears that you get a Keltner band violation. Since price often touches these levels, do you place your stops at a certain percentage level beyond the channel or it is advisable to add a filter such as time to avoid false signals? Thanks in advance. I have also enjoyed several of your webinars through ETR! Always learning.
