I’m always concerned when someone “doesn’t do the math.” Yours is very good advice, but someone who hasn’t - or can’t or won’t - do the math (including setting up the problem) for themselves needs to keep their day job.
This is a dream for me. Thanks for this framework for how to think about this. I also think there would be the additional psychological stress that would probably change my ability to trade the same way if I knew my family’s next meal depended on the success of my next trade.

At times , I have dreamed of trading for a living but it doesn’t make sense for me to give up my day job any time soon. For now , I just trade long term charts (weekly and even monthly) with smaller position sizes always adding to winners and cutting losers.
