Over the years, I’ve been very vocal about what a political, non-economics based hack Paul Krugman is. He’s been wrong on nearly every pronouncement, but still amazingly finds himself on the staff of the New York Times, helping to destroy any credibility the newspaper has left at this point. This discussion of inflation and the economics behind it covers both sides of the argument: Krugman’s and Shostak’s from the Mises Wire. In my view, Shostak is spot on. The term inflation has been misused for decades now. Chances are getting better for an upcoming recession looking at the macro-economics of the current situation. Enjoy the read and the ride!
